Navy @ Tulsa Road Trip

This year the Navy football team’s closest game will be in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 29.

The alumni association puts on a great tailgate with the local parents club. Ray Foran ’00 will be attending—contact him at rayforan@2000.usna.com to coordinate travel and ticketing.


STRATCOM Army/Air Force vs. Navy/Marine Corps Flag Football

The local STRATCOM Army-Air Force vs Navy-Marine Corps flag football game will be held on October 22 at 1800 on the Bellevue West Football field.

Our alumni association chapter has been sponsoring the event by paying for half of the field use for the last 5 years. Come on out and cheer them on!

Watch the Army–Navy game with us 11 December 2021 at D.J.’s Dugout Sports Bar in Bellevue.

Social hour starts at 1300, with kick-off at 1400 CT.

Be prepared for a heavy Army presence, so show those Navy colors!

Army is the host this year. They should be set up by 1200 if you want to get there early.

Air Force vs. Navy Watch Party

The USAFA Chapter has invited us to watch the game with them at the Patriarch Distillers.

This is the same location where we did the chili competition party.

Game time is 1430 CT Saturday, 11 September.

Army–Navy in the Greater Omaha Area

Due to the high COVID-19 numbers in our local area and, the policies on large gatherings, in coordination with the West Point Society President we will not be having an Army–Navy watch party this year.

One of the key items is that we still need to have a nomination and vote for officers.

Please send your nominations Ray Foran ’00 (rayforan@2000.usna.com) ASAP. On Saturday he will send out a virtual vote request.

USAFA alumni leaders have reserved the party room at Ref’s Sports Bar & Grill at 97th & Giles Road in La Vista for the game.

Former Supe Ted Carter ’81 to Head University of Nebraska

“The Board of Regents today appointed Walter “Ted” Carter, Jr., VADM (Ret.), a higher education executive with an extensive record of growing student and academic success, as the priority candidate to serve as the eighth president of the University of Nebraska.

Carter, a retired vice admiral in the U.S. Navy, is the immediate past superintendent of his alma mater, the U.S. Naval Academy; a former president of the U.S. Naval War College; and a Distinguished Flying Cross and Bronze Star recipient. He was unanimously supported by both the Board and the 23-member Presidential Search Advisory Committee that represented faculty, students, staff, business, agriculture and other university constituencies.”
